She is not a blogger, a coach, or a personality built for the internet. Kaka Liz is a Keeper of Knowledge & Culture — someone who carries knowledge not from books, but from lived experience, land, tradition, food, and the natural rhythms of life in Flores. What you meet in her presence is not performance, but depth, calm, and a quiet authority that does not need to announce itself.
Rooted in Flores
Born in the highlands of Flores, in the Maumere tradition — where the natural world, the human body, and the unseen are understood as deeply connected — she has spent years learning across the island: its languages, food traditions, plants and healing practices. Almost everything served at Dapur Tara grows in her own garden, where plants are food, medicine and protection, and little is wasted.
A living world, not a staged experience
The food, the fire, the pace, the way people gather, the way ingredients are treated, the way the land is respected — none of it was designed for visitors. It already existed; Dapur Tara simply became a way to open that world to others without turning it into a show. That is why it feels lived, held, and true — and why it cannot be copied. It comes from the person behind it.
Culture, nature, and the body
Beyond the kitchen, Kaka Liz works through lectures, workshops, cultural programs and personal sessions — on connection to the body, women’s health and natural cycles, plants as medicine, food as nourishment, and the role of nature in human life. Through her practice Nipa Indah, she also holds private retreats and channeling rooted in La’La Wair, the sacred water-reading tradition of her Maumere lineage.
